The SGUS Programme administered by the Singapore Institute of Retail Studies (SIRS) is a 6 months full-time training programme designed to help Singapore Citizens and Singapore Permanent Residents (PRs) to upskill and reskill themselves with industry-relevant skills and knowledge, to boost their employability to take on new or enhanced job opportunities in the retail and new sectors as the economy recovers. The programme operates on a Train-and-Place model, where trainees receive career advisory, guidance and employment placement assistance from SIRS at no cost.
Besides strengthening skills portfolio for enhanced competitiveness and employability, trainees can also establish a strong support network among peers and industry professionals. How Can Trainees Benefit?
Close to 100% Subsidised Course Fee
Course fees are extremely affordable with close to 100% subsidised fee at only $500 nett for a 6-month programme. Trainees can use their SkillsFuture Credit, including the top-ups announced in 2020 Unity Budget, to offset the nett course fee. Up to $7,200 of Training Allowance Trainees can receive a training allowance of $1,200 per month throughout the 6 months programme, for up to $7,200 for the full duration.
